If I Could Remember All the Things She Forgot

To grandma’s house again I go
to collect the pieces of so long ago.
Each time I pass through grandma’s gate
I know an adventure will surely await.

Memories start to gather around
and all of a sudden I hear a sound.
I walk through the kitchen and hear her call
“ Bring the picture book, from down the hall"

Like lightning, I race to her side
where memories will be our guide
She’ll tell of fond times and of games
of funny men with funny names
of attic games that she would play
and things she’s lost along the way.
